 Lake Tahoe Wolf Rescue
Successful Adoptions

These animals have been adopted out by LTWR and our networking partners, and have been placed in qualified, forever homes. Many thanks for everyone's continued help and efforts.

Owner Keeping! Spokane, WA - She is a spayed husky mix of approx. 5 yrs of age and is located near Spokane WA.  Pansy was part of a rescue 3 yrs ago where 18 dogs had all been abandoned on chains.  Homes were found for most of the dogs but Pansy and 4 others stayed on with the wonderful woman who had lived next door. Pansy has been an outdoor dog and with some help, could be housetrained. She requires a fenced yard and would love to have a male companion. She plays well with male dogs but doesn't like females. She is leash trained and is a very sweet girl.  We are really hoping to find her a home as soon as possible.

Adopted - Lake Tahoe, NV - Chloe is a 10-mo-old female Husky/mix. [Not a wolfdog] Some renters moved and left Chloe and two horses. She has been kept in a barn at night and chained to a tree during the day for the past 2 months because she killed some chickens. The ranch owner fell in love with Chloe, and has been working with her to help her walk better on leash. She understands that the pup was only playing - but a chicken ranch is no place for this Husky! Chloe is not housetrained, but knows Sit and Down, and gets excited when anyone pays any attention her because she has been so neglected. Chloe normally has a thicker Husky coat but these pictures were taken in the fall. Chloe is a jumper, so she should be supervised with 6' fencing. Escape-proof containment necessary, or someone around all the time to work with her on leash, and to get her out hiking and exercising. A tired dog is a well behaved dog! Doggy classes would be great for her. She is actually very sweet, and would make a wonderful companion for the right person.

Adopted -Decatur, GA - Malamute female. This Senior is a very sweet girl, and under all the hair, she is mostly just skin and bones. We hate her having to be here at the shelter. She should be living our her life being safe and comfortable in a loving home with some good food to put some weight on her. She appears to be in good health. Decatur Girl needs someone who can give her last years a little spark and a little fun. Please contact me ASAP if you can take her in.

Adopted - Zoey is a stray that came in 11-15-10. She looks to be pure Husky. Zoey is extremely energetic and vivacious - a typical Husky! She'll mesmerize you with just one glance from her deep bi-colored eyes. This very happy girl is looking for a new home. She needs someone who knows how to handle this intelligent breed, she may not be a good fit for a first-time Husky owner as she may be an escape artist. Secure containment recommended. Please act quickly!!

Hops A lot Comes Out First

Little Bear

Urgent! Foreclosure! Three Wooly Malamute/Wolf siblings, Tuscon, AZ. Immediate rescue needed (home being foreclosed) for these three, all 10 years old. Two males - Comes Out First (Alpha) and Little Bear; and a female - Hops Alot. They were born at home and raised together with daily human contact. They are all spayed/neutered. Diet - wet and dry dog food, “treats” and real meat. All three are very shy with strangers and not used to being handled. They need "sanctuary" environment in escape-proof enclosures, outdoor living. This is very heartbreaking for their owner who has had them since pups. These three are not house pets. "Owner trying to save her home from foreclosure so she can keep her babies"

Northern CA - Bailey 6-mo-old GSD/mix was picked up as a stray. Bailey will be neutered before adoption. He friendly and affectionate, and does not try to escape. He walks nicely on leash, but does pull if excited and playful. So far he seems to be housetrained. He knows Sit, and Come, is submissive to both people and other dogs. The Foster cannot keep these two boys for long. We would like to adopt them together, but will separate them if necessary to find the right home.

Adopted! Reno, NV -Webo (pronounced Weebo) - Energetic and absolutely the cutest, this 6 1/2-yr-old female German Shepherd/ Husky was bought from a breeder who bred GSDs and Huskies to produce dogs that look like wolfdogs. Webo is a real sweetheart and her owner loves her very much. He now has a new partner and a new baby and are in a tiny apartment, and so Webo spends her entire days in a crate (except for her short daily walks). Webo is very friendly with everyone - kids, cats, and other dogs. She does pull on leash and would need a pinch collar. She knows Sit and Down, is housetrained and very well behaved. She used to jump a 6' fence when she was younger, but may be ok now with a new owner she feels secure with. Webo would be best with someone that works at home or is a stay-at-home mom as she loves to be around people. Webo does have separation anxiety and can be destructive if left alone in the house. She is best with other canine companions. She is playful, yet calm after the proper exercise. She could use some dog training classes and would make someone a very well-trained companion because she is very smart and loves to please! Please help us get this poor girl out of her crate and into a home where she will get some real attention.
