Lake Tahoe Wolf
Rescue
Successful Adoptions 2010-2011
These animals have been adopted
out by LTWR and our networking partners, and have been placed in qualified, forever
homes. Many thanks to everyone for their continued help and efforts.
Adopted - Glendale, AZ - Coda is
a gorgeous 4-year-old neutered male that looks to be German Shepherd/Malamute/Collie. This boy
needs a big back yard with 6' fencing to play in, as he does not like to go for walks on
leash (although he tolerates the leash for his baths). He does not do well with all male dogs,
so needs a female companion to keep him company. Coda thinks he is a lapdog, is very playful and
plays with his sisters all day. He does play rough, so needs large playmates! He doesn't mind human
visitors as long as they respect him and let him approach them first, so he's not too shy. He's really
a good boy, affectionate and a sweetheart. Unfortunately owner has 7 dogs (male
rescues) and she has to keep Coda separated. This boy needs his own home with someone
around a lot to help socialize Coda and teach him how to enjoy going for walks. He would love a
submissive female companion to play with so he can get lots of exercise in his yard.
Owner/rescuer is unemployed but cares so much for this sweet boy she will help with expenses to
transport. If Coda goes into a Foster Home, expenses for food will be provided as well.
They cannot keep him much longer, so time is of the essence. Please

Adopted! - El Campo, CA - Kiko is a sweet 1-year-old
White German Shepherd/Husky who is a bit shy with strangers. He and his sister, Roca [below], were
dumped off by their owner after poor Roca had puppies. They were selling the puppies and just wanted
these two out ASAP. The pups are now in Foster and being
cared for with a healthy diet and training. Roca is gaining weight (she was emaciated), and Kiko
is now friendly and likes to go for walks on leash. They need homes very soon. Someone who is
active and home alot would be best for these too, as they are very confused right now. We would
like to adopt them together, but will separate to find them good homes.
Adopted! - Roca [below] is a very friendly girl, and looks to
have received mostly German Shepherd genes, with the black and white coloring from the Husky. She
is very beautiful! Roca looks like a longhaired German Shepherd. She will probably be walking off leash
soon as she just loves to be with you. She is very people friendly. She is a little shy at times, and
when she saw a cow, she slipped out of her collar and bolted - she ran straight home!
 Both must be
spayed/neutered before adoption. Please send Adoption Application if you are interested (in
Documents). Please contact pamela Jo at PamelaJoWolflady@yahoo.com

Roca - 1-year-old female
Adopted! Reno, NV -
Max is a beautiful but shy 1 1/2 year-old Malamute/mix pup. Owner moved and
he was dumped at the shelter. Max has been an only dog, outdoors in yard with not much socializing. He
escapes from his 4' fence, but he is lanky and could probably scale 5-6' fencing if
frightened in a strange place. He would need to be supervised until he acclimates, unless you have an
escape-proof containment. He has been unsocialized so would need to be an only dog, or with
a large, female canine companion. If you have other dogs, an experienced handler is necessary to
help him socialize calmly and properly. He was very stressed and terrified at the shelter but is doing
better in boarding kennel now and being socialized with other dogs. He
is much more relaxed now and doing great! Max is underweight and needs some good food to fatten
him up. We recommend a real-meat/holistic diet for all our rescues. He is young and will come around
quickly in the right hands. Contact Pamela at (775) 833-2066 or email her at PamelaJowolflady@yahoo.com
Adopted! New Brunsfelds, TX -
5-month-old Nikko is a very lucky puppy. He was rescued by a
caring woman at 2 months of age. An abandoned stray, he was bloated with worms and dying from
malnutrition. She nursed him back to health with a holistic approach and he is a healthy, happy puppy
now... and striking! Nikko is German Shepherd/Husky, and has stunning blue eyes. He is up to
date on shots. His Foster Mom cannot keep him any longer and now Nikko is ready to go to a forever
loving home. Nikko would be best with someone that can spend time training this smart pup, as he will
turn out to be a wonderful companion. Nikko is playful and affectionate and ready for his forever
home! If you are interested in adopting Nikko, please contact Pamela at (775) 833-2066 or

for an adoption application.
Yerrington, NV/Lake Tahoe area -Two
beautiful "purebred" Native American Indian Dogs were dropped off at a shelter in
January by their owner. They are well behaved and human friendly, and in good health.
Dakota is a 5-yr-old spayed female, about 82 lbs, in good health, and very
sociable. She is good with other dogs and likes to Sit for treats. She has no separation anxiety [a
little at first while settling in], is very calm and affectionate.
Chocktaw - a neutered male - is also 5 yrs old,
larger and about 96 lbs. Both are friendly with humans. He gets a
little excited when meeting new dogs, but has not shown any aggression toward them. He pulls on leash
and so will need a strong and experienced handler as Chocktaw is a big strong boy, but
he is presently working with a trainer and doing very
good! Secure containment required with 6' fencing, and a home with
lots of good daily exercise is just what these two beauties need.
Chocktaw - [upper left] Adopted!
Dakota Adopted!
Both have been working with their own professional trainer and they are doing really great, so continued
dog classes are recommended. They are ready for adoption! Please contact Pamela Jo at 775-833-2066
PamelaJoWolflady@yahoo.com
Adopted! - Lake Tahoe, NV - Orbit is a beautiful
pup born May 1, 2011, who looks to be mostly White German Shepherd (not a purebred, he's
cream colored). He is almost 7 months old now. When Orbit had gotten attacked by dogs as a
puppy at 10 weeks old, his homeless owner turned him in to the shelter because he couldn't
afford to pay for medical expenses (pup had severe bites on his face that were badly infected).
Orbit is in good health now, completely healed. He's UTD on shots and dewormed. He must have
been attacked numerous times as he was terribly afraid of other dogs. His Foster Mom is
spending time rehabilitating and training Orbit and he is doing great. At 7 months old, he is a very
big boy, but still a little uncertain with new dogs. He hikes off leash, but if he
sees a strange dog down the trail, he will bolt. Once he meets the dogs, he loves to
play, but more training is needed to help him overcome his fears so that an accident
doesn't happen. Orbit knows some commands (Sit, Stay, Come, Wait, Leave It) - and he is
housetrained. Orbit is very smart and well behaved if he is given adequate exercise
and continued training. He needs a strong handler as he has a tendancy to want his
own way. Best with someone who can spend a lot of time with him to continue his training,
and who has a calm, friendly canine companion for Orbit to learn from. Orbit needs an
active lifestyle to tire him out! Please contact Pamela Jo at (775) 833-2066 PamelaJoWolflady@yahoo.com .
Adopted! Frazier Mountain, CA -
This is handsome Ziggy, a very submissive and beautiful
Malamute/Husky pup, about 9 months old. He is brother to Bruce [below]. He is a bit
mouthy, and extremely fearful of almost everything unusual.
He will need an experienced and patient handler. He is
known to be a bit of a digger, more of a hobby than an occupation. Ziggy will
need good, secure escape-proof fencing. Ziggy is actually very gentle with
young children but becomes mouthy and nippy when excited, so we don't really
recommend a home with children. High prey drive with small animals, he would do best with an
experienced, gentle and patient handler who can spend a lot of time with
him. A work-at-home owner with good canine experience would be best
for this shy boy. Escape-proof containment required. Ziggy is located in
Frazier Mountain, CA. Please contact Matthew at wolf@lockwoodarc.org
Adopted! Frazier Mountain, CA -
Bruce is the beautiful Malamute/Husky brother of Ziggy [above]. He is 9
months old and will be neutered before adoption. He is not fully leash
trained yet and needs some housetraining. Bruce is a bit fearful and very
shy, but no food aggression. He loves to chase young children, so will not
be adopted to families with small children. He's a very sweet boy and
needs a person that is around alot. A work-at-home owner with good canine
experience would be best for this shy boy. Escape-proof containment
required. Wolfdog experience even better! Both
Bruce and Ziggy are located in Frazier Mountain, CA. Please contact
Matthew at wolf@lockwoodarc.org

Owner has not responded and we don't know if these girls will wind up at a
shelter. Shadow and Brandy are two sweet girls that
need a Foster or permanent home RIGHT AWAY! Their owner lost their home and they will
be going to the shelter within days if they don't find placement. Shadow is the Black and Tan
Shepherd. She is 6 years old. Brandy is lighter in color, mixed with Husky, and is 10 years old.
Both girls are spayed, and current on vaccinations. They low-content
wolfgirls, and are fine with small dogs, but a little dominant with large dogs - nothing that
an experienced dog person couldn't handle. Brandy and Shadow walk very nice on leashes and do not
pull at all. They are housetrained and do not try to escape. They will be separated if it
means we can save their lives.
Jasper
Adopted! Poway, CA (near San Diego) Jasper is a
beautiful 3-year-old neutered male Malamute/GSD [German Shepherd Dog]. At 130 lbs. he
is a big boy and would do best with a large, submissive canine
companion, or as an only dog. He plays rough, and doesn't like to be challenged by dominant dogs.
He is up to date on vaccinations and in good health. Jasper was an owner-surrender by a man
who lost his home and job. He is in foster, but needs a
permanent home as soon as possible. He did not have much training so Foster Mom has
been working with him and he's responding very well. Jas per needs a strong and experienced
handler who is around alot to spend quality training time with him and give him daily exercise. We
request that the new adopter take him to doggy classes, as he is very smart and will do well. He
will not be adopted into a household with small children, small dogs, or other male canines as he
plays rough and can be aggressive with other males if they are dominant or challenge him. Classes
will help to desensitize him and make him more sociable with other males. He likes to explore and
is learning to come in, lie down and behave. He is housetrained. Outside there
is slight digging but he's content to stay in a fenced yard. Jasper will sit, lie down, walk
on leash. He loves his food and will steal from others so he should always be fed separately from
other animals. He is very serious about his
food but will sit for his dinner. Jasper loves to run so must be leashed at all times, but would
be a great jogging companion. He has improved tremendously on leash but still needs to
be reminded to settle down if he wants to investigate something. He loves attention, belly rubs,
and to be loved on. Jasper enjoys being brushed. Someone who is home alot, a strong
handler, and has experience with large northern breeds would be great for this boy. He is a real
sweetheart, very affectionate, and in the right hands will make a wonderful companion. Please
contact Pamela Jo at (775) 833-2066 or PamelaJoWolflady@yahoo.com
Adopted! Wyla - So. California -Wyla was pulled from
the Devore Shelter just hours before she was scheduled to be euthanized after waiting the mandatory five
days for someone to claim her (she was a stray). She's about a year old, and one of the happiest dogs
we've ever met, full of joy, and always doing things to make us smile. She loves people and
children. She wants to please, and is a quick learner. We took her to a private trainer for two weeks
for the basics. She is spayed, microchipped, and current on all shots. She loves her toys, and
entertains herself by lying on her back while holding one of her babies in the air. She's very clean, and
doesn't have a lot of the typical puppy habits like chewing on furniture. She knows the word "no" and usually listens the
first time. She seems fine with most dogs on neutral territory and out on hikes, but we think it
would be best for her to be in a home without other dogs as she likes to be the queen of the
house! She is extremely urgent as her Foster home cannot keep her any longer and
she is now being boarded again. It is expensive and very confusing for poor Wyla. Please
help this sweet girl. Contact Jim and Keri LaMar (951) 737-4009; (949) 525-3553 Keri cell (949) 294-4993 Jim cell kerilamar@hotmail.com or Jim at jimllamar@yahoo.com
Adopted! Killeen, TX Shelter - Thunder is
a very elegant neutered male Malamute/mix [not a wolfdog] located in Killeen, TX. He was
surrendered to the shelter - along with his companion Shadow Girl because the owners lost their
home and had to move to a homeless shelter. Thunder is approximately 2 years old and has been
at the shelter for months now. He is good with other dogs and kids of all ages. He has never
been tested with cats. He is very friendly and playful, and has been great with everyone at the
shelter. He and Shadow Girl have been at a No-Kill Shelter for almost a year now, and are
being housed in a tiny, indoor cement-floor kennel, about 15' x 5' [together!]. Thunder
really needs a loving home. He walks well on leash. Wonderful dog! Very loving. He knows some
basic commands, sit, shake, lie down, roll over, etc. No medical issues. We would like to adopt
Thunder with his companion Shadow Girl if possible as they are very bonded, but they will
separate them if it means one will find a real home.
New Mexico - Silver Bear ... Hello All...I am Stephanie Kaylan, the founder of
the Wanagi Wolf Fund and Rescue in Tijeras, New Mexico, just outside Albuquerque. Silver Bear, a recent
rescue from a hoarding situation in AZ, has special needs. Her numbers are not good for her liver
enzymes, but yet she trots and jumps and plays and is happy. She is too old and too happy for invasive
procedures. She will be on expensive meds for the rest of her life at $160 every month as well as a
special diet with vitamins and herbs. I know we will all "go" one day...but in the mean time...
this new rescue, Silver Bear is HAPPY with us in her new, forever home. Please
contribute to WANAGI WOLF FUND & RESCUE. We really need your help now as we have other
rescues as well. Donations may be made on-line thru PAYPAL via our website.. or sent to our PO BOX
listed on the website. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation so your donations are tax deductible.
www.wanagi-wolf-fund.org Stephanie (Durga) and the
entire pack thanks you! durgaomwolf@yahoo.com
Adopted! - Las Vegas, Nevada - these two
beautiful puppies were born June 16, 2011 [pictured here at 9 weeks old].
Deja the female (bottom right), and Balto the male (upper left)
are German Shepherd/mix, very smart, and are already working on housetraining. The mom was rescued pregnant
at 8 months old, and is being kept by the Foster Mom, but these two pups need their own homes now and are
ready to go. Someone that is home alot to keep up
their t raining would be best, and with an
active lifestyle and fun hikes every day when they get older - they will be large doggies.
Look at those feet! If you are interested in giving a home to one of these beauties, please contact
Pamela Jo at (775) 83-2066 or PamelaJoWolflady@yahoo.com Transportation help
to the Lake Tahoe area is available.
Adopted! Lake Arrowhead, CA - Ryder - is a stunning black and white,
2-yr-old pure Husky male. He is presently in a Foster home, but needs a home
soon! Poor Ryder lived in a small kennel at a vets office for over 6
weeks! Ryder's owner lost his home and so this sweet and well-mannered boy needs a new and
loving home. He is neutered and UTD on vaccinations. As a typical Husky, he is a bit of an
escape artist when he gets bored, so he needs secure containment.
Ryder would be best with someone around a lot as he really likes to have companionship and
daily exercise. The pictures are of Ryder and his two new foster companions. His foster
parents say: This dog LOVES people, is very sweet, and he gets so excited and vocal when
he hears us come home. Ryder is very gentle when taking food from your hand. He is not food
aggressive nor a picky eater. He has been very good in the house. No chewing or
accidents, but we haven't left him in the house while we are gone. Secure containment
required for those times when you are away. He is a bit dominant
with new dogs and needs some dog classes for socialization.
Adopted! Grass Valley, CA -
Jake is a big, beautiful neutered male that looks to be
Golden Retriever/German Shepherd. His owner is very ill and can no longer care for her beloved Jake
and his female companion, Jesse [pictured below]. Jesse has been adopted and Jake is very lonely, so he
needs a forever, loving homes. Adoption Application and Home Check required.
Adopted by his Foster Dad!
Roseville, CA - DOMINO is a Gorgeous Alaskan Husky 1 1/2-year-old neutered, male
pup. Domino has beautiful blue eyes and a charming personality. He is a
very good boy, playful, energetic, social with people and seems to be fine with the shelter dogs. Someone must
have had a heavy hand with Domino as his boy is fearful (cowers) of raised hands and
will cower to the ground with harsh tone of voice, so a patient and experienced handler would be great for
him. He weighs 60 lbs. and has had bortadella vacs. at the shelter. He was adopted and returned
because he jumped a 5' fence, but seems to be fine with 6' fencing. He is a typical energetic pup - jumps up
when excited; pulls a little on leash when excited; but usually very respectful and should be easy to train.
Domino has separation anxiety and would do best with someone who is around a lot. Domino would excel with doggy
classes and would love a family that is active with hikes and training.
Lake Tahoe, Nevada - Itani (pronounced E-tahnee) is a sweet 3-year-old German Shepherd/mix female.
Her name means Proud, and she is strong and graceful, and in good health. Itani
is in a temporary Foster home. Itani is affectionate, well behaved, walks nicely on leash
and also off leash, knows some commands, and is not shy in the least. Her Foster Dad has
been teaching her all kinds of tricks (she is a fast learner and he is using the
clicker method). He's also taking her to dog classes where she is doing very well. She
LOVES people, is ok with kids, but we are looking for a calm environment, preferably
without children. She does not do well when left home alone, and he is working
on short periods at a time with babysitting Kong in a crate, but Itani will
be best in a home with someone who works at home or is around alot. She likes to
ride in the car, loves women and to hang with you, so someone that can take her to
work would be great! She would love a male canine companion to keep her company so she
doesn't have to stay home alone. Her Foster Dad can only keep
her until July 27, so she needs a Permanent home ASAP with someone who can give
her lots of love and attention. It is unknown how she is with cats. Please contact
Pamela Jo at 775-833-2066 PamelaJoWolflady@yahoo.com This sweet girl is very
adoptable and time is of the essence!
Adopted SoCal
- Bella is only 9 months old and a very stunning girl!
Bella weighs 44 lbs and has a gorgeous silvery coat. She is UTD on her
vaccinations, has been recently spayed, and is in good health. She is great
with other large dogs. Bella needs some leash training and would benefit from
doggy classes while she is still young. Bella is very shy and fearful of most
people, but is affectionate and will give kisses once she trusts you. She
really needs an experienced home with someone around a lot to give her lots
of attention and keep up with her socialization. Bella is great with women,
very gentle, good with cats, and will need escape-proof containment with
daily exercise.

Adopted! Zeus
- He is one of the 9 recently UNchained "Stanley Dogs" here with us at New Mexico
Dogs Deserve Better. Zeus had a very big day yesterday... his FIRSTout into the world. He visited his vet and
rode around with me all day in the car, even had lunch at McDonalds! He went to the grooming salon where
he will spend the next couple of days having the last FIVE years of neglect
on a chain lovingly removed. It was initially determined that the only way to restore his coat
would be to completely shave him but to our delight they did not have to shave h im after all! Because his fur was so
terribly matted & unattended for so many years, it is a job that will need to span a couple of days.
He will soon be on his way to his new home with people that will shower him with love and affection,
something he should have had since a puppy.
Adopted! Grass Valley Shelter, CA - This sweet but
very shy little 8-month-old Valentine looks to be mostly White German Shepherd even though she is only about 35
lbs. She is about the size of a 5-6 mo-old pup most likely due to starvation periods while she was
growing. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations and tested heartworm negative. Valentine is
good with all size dogs, but not good with cats. She was a feral dog living on some property owned by
an irresponsible man that had several dogs, all of whom were not spayed or neutered. The man would
feed the dogs for a month or so and then leave for 3-4 months. Valentine was born during one of his
long times away. Animal Control heard that most of the dogs were starving and started trapping. They
caught Valentine and her parents. Her parents had gotten to know people and were semi- social...
Valentine didn't have much experience with humans so she was very scared when she first came to the
shelter. We have worked with her for many months now and she has come around enough to let most people
put a leash on her and she is making progress every day. Valentine needs a home where she is the only
dog so she can bond with her person and get special attention, or have the companionship of a
very social and calm dog to teach her how to trust. Whomever adopts Valentine should have some
experience with feral or shy dogs. Valentine will need lot of patience and understanding, and would do
best with someone that works at home, retired, or around alot. 6' fenced back yard with dig guard is
required. She has been at the shelter a long time and is now ready for her own home. Please
contact Kristina at kristina@sammiesfriends.org or Pamela Jo at PamelaJoWolflady@yahoo.com
In Foster - needs permanent
home Griz is a beautiful, VERY big neutered, male
Malamute/low-content wolfdog. His owner kept him chained most of the time, but occasionally allowed him to roam
the neighborhood to get his exercise but this got Griz into trouble and he was picked up by Animal
Control. He needs a strong and very experienced handler. Contact Kim Kahl.
Due to a nasty forest
fire, the owner of these precious babies lost everything they owned on ten acres about a year ago. Now
they need a home to avoid being sent to the shelter as the owners can no longer provide for them.
Escape-proof fencing [6' with hotwire ok], and dig guards recommended. Ok in house while supervised,
and can be great with more training. Some help with transportation available. Owner
would love to find a Foster until she can
take her babies back. If not, they are available for permanent
placement. They are in Austin,
TX.
Eowen is black and white, mid content mixed with
Malamute. She's 9 years old and very friendly. Loves other dogs and wants to play with smaller
animals...but will hold back because the eldest cat gave her hell. Loves kids and prefers female human
companionship. Eowen is a little shy with strangers at first, but gets over it quickly.
Jax is a 5-yr-old male. Beautiful red wolf
markings/malamute mix. Low-content. He too is shy of strangers, but is food motivated and will be your
best friend for treats. He's very high energy and loves to go hiking, but he needs training in that
area. Running is best with lots of strenuous hikes to tire him out. He' still a young boy!
Rubi is the 3-yr-old offspring of Eowen and Jax. It was
unplanned and all are altered now. Beautiful Rubi resembles her dad, only more grey. She is very people
shy. Owner says "The only person she has ever let touch her is my 5 yr old. child. She
shows me affection in her own way, but rarely gets close enough to touch, unless she touches with her
nose. I'm hoping someone out there with the patience of a saint will find her and show her that it
feels good to be loved. She's really very sweet, and not aggressive at all." Training classes
are recommended for all to make an easier transition to their new homes. They are just
north of Austin, TX. Contact owner Wendy at samourn_makare@yahoo.com .
Surprise, AZ - Gorgeous puppy Shasta needs a forever home! Shasta
is only 4 1/2 months old and will be spayed, microchipped and UTD with shots upon adoption. She is a descendant
of one of the White Fang babies that were in the movie. Shasta is very dog social, but shy of humans. It takes
her a little while, but she warms up eventually if you are patient and knowledgeable about this breed. She has
a long and luxurious coat and looks to be Husky/Malamute. Shasta will be a large dog as she is already as big
as a Siberian adult. She is good with small dogs and puppies (already playing with Chihuahua pups), but she
will need some obedience training to help her get over some of her shyness, and teach her how to be more social
and relaxed in strange places. She is comfortable coming in and out of the house at will. Shasta should have
secure escape-proof containment, plenty of exercise, and a human that can spend lots of time showering her with
love and attention.
Owner
keeping! SoCal - Kodiak is only 9 months
old and just look at that sweet face - indeed! He is great with other large dogs, needs a little
leash training and would benefit from doggy classes while he is still young. Kodiak is sweet and
affectionate and really needs a home with someone around alot to give him love and attention and
keep up with his training. He is energetic and playful, yet with daily exercise he is calm and
well behaved indoors. Kodiak will need secure containment, and will be neutered upon
adoption. Foster Mom is teaching him to behave with cats. He is Bella's big brother.
DALLAS, TX area - SOLSTICE is a beautiful,
2-year-old spayed female with one blue eye and one brown eye. She is very striking with colors that are
silvery and beautiful as she is growing in a thick new coat after being shaved for the hot weather. She
was transferred from Lake Tahoe Wolf Rescue, and is now fostered by TX Husky Rescue. Her Foster Mom has
a lot of experience with shy dogs, so Solstice is learning to be social and comfortable in new and
strange surroundings. Solstice is typical Siberian size, about 50 lbs. She came into Rescue very shy and fearful
as she was not properly socialized while she was growing up. She lived with her family and pack of
dogs and cats, but didn't get out much. She loves other dogs and is very playful, and loves her
new companions, and as she gets rehabilitated she has much more self confidence. She has a little
separation anxiety and would be best with someone around a lot, that can spend time taking her
everywhere with them - she loves to be with you. Solstice is very well behaved in the house, is
calm, and likes to be in the same room with her family. She is crate trained, walks well on the
leash and is in good health. She is very sweet and would love a forever home in a calm
environment, with someone experienced with shy dogs. Daily exercise and secure containment are
recommended to keep this girl safe and happy! Please contact Mary Ann at SiberianXpress1@tx.rr.com
Adopted Sacramento, CA - Meet Sam,
a very pretty intact, 1-year-old mid/low-content Wolfdog. He was being held in the Downtown San
Francisco shelter. This boy needs an experienced foster or home. He is unsocialized, skittish but not known
to have any aggression [neither food nor fear aggression]. He warms to
people he knows in a few hours, but is much in need of behavior modification. Its not too late for him to
be rehabilitated into an awesome companion, but it will take a lot of work and patience, for which the
rewards are enormous. Sam is looking for someone who will earn his love. Sam needs to be neutered before
adoption. Wolfdog experience and escape-proof containment required.
Adopted! Pauls Valley, OK - Graceful
and slender, Montana is a real sweetheart. This 1-2 year old neutered Low-content wolfboy
was dropped off at the shelter by his owner in June, 2010. He had been living in a tiny kennel at the
shelter ever since! Thats a year at the shelter! Montana is tall, weighs
about 70 lbs. (could use some fattening up) and is up-to-date on his vaccinations. He is well mannered and
walks nicely on leash, and is good with other dogs - l arge and small. Montana is
very afectionate and docile yet is playful and energetic. He needs a secure yard with 6' fencing and
dig guard. He is shy at first with strangers, but warms up quickly if they are gentle and patient. He
is ok with children but would be best in a home that is peaceful yet has an active lifestyle. It
is unknown how he is with cats. PamelaJoWolflady@yahoo.com
Adopted! Pahrump, NV - Geronimo is a very big and beautiful White
GSD/Malamute boy who has lost his home - twice! His first owner had Mo and his sister for
3 years. The owner died in her home and Mo and his sister were there for a week until Animal
Control took them away. It was very sad. The second owner loves Geronimo very much, but after
sharing her home with him and her eight children for 7 years, she recently lost her home to
foreclosure. She would love to have him back but won't be able to until at least another 8 months, so
we are looking for either a Foster or Permanent home for this sweet boy. Geronimo is usually sociable
with kids, cats and other dogs and has a good disposition, but is very stressed in his Foster Home of
only 2 weeks. They have him chained to a dog house and are feeding commercial pet food, which is
making him cranky. He is very unhappy. Geronimo has mild hip dysplasia, and is being treated with some
natural supplements. He is in good health otherwise. He has a good personality - loves walks, playing,
meeting people and other animals. He loves riding in the car and would make a nice hiking buddy for
short hikes but frequent hikes. Will protect food by standing over his bowl but an easy fix with an
experienced handler. Geronimo needs sturdy fencing (9 gauge) as he can easily tear up flimsy horse
fencing. 6' fencing should keep him contained, with dig guard. Geronimo would probably be best as an
only dog or with a large female canine companion. An experienced handler who has time to give this
boy love and attention would be the best thing for Geronimo, as he misses his family very much. Please
contact Pamela Jo at (775) 833-2066 or PamelaJoWolflady@yahoo.com
Adopted! Livermore, CA - Wolfie. This handsome young boy is only 1-1/2 yrs old,
neutered and sweet-natured. His unsuspecting owner bought him from a breeder with the intentions of giving
him a loving home, only to find out he is too energetic for them and quite a handful. Wolfie is mostly
Malamute/Husky with one blue eye. He's friendly and plays well with large dogs, but is too rough with
smaller dogs. He will not be adopted to a home with cats either. He walks beautifully on leash, and is
housetrained. This pup is not ready to be left home [indoors] alone unattended as he will still chew, but
he is fine when you are around to correct him gently. If left in
the yard (6' fencing OK) he is great if he has another canine companion. He digs for fun, not for escape,
and can jump a 5' fence easily when playing, so 6' fencing is required for this boy. We
also recommend a dig guard. He will Sit and Lie Down on command, and loves fetching the ball. He is
submissive with other dominant dogs since he is still a pup, and would also be good if he had a young,
playful large canine companion. He is very shy with men. Wolfie is best with grown kids as he will get
excited when playing with little ones and gets nippy. He is a little mouthy and needs some training with
this. Wolfie howls when left alone so best with a human that works at home or can take with. He does not
like to be crated. He needs a well-balanced real-meat diet, and some training with a little food guarding.
He is very tall, and towers over other large dogs. This beautiful pup would be best with someone with
wolfdog experience, a gentle but dominant handler, and someone with a lot of time to help him blossom into
the great companion that he can be.
Adopted! Susanville, CA Shelter - Miya - This beautiful
2-year-old Malamute/GSD female was never claimed by her owner - even after a few notices - and left to be
euthanized. Pretty Miya is up-to-date on some of her shots, is friendly, and seems to be good with other
dogs in the shelter. She walks nicely on leash and seems to be housetrained. This girl seems very adoptable and
needs a forever loving home. She would be best with a male canine companion, and someone who can spend time
taking her for hikes and giving her some love and attention. Someone who works at home or can take with would
be great for this pretty girl. 6' fencing is recommended. Miya will be spayed before adoption.
Adopted!
Los Banos (near Merced) CA - Three
Beautiful Husky Puppies! Two males, one female. They were born on March 17, 2011. The owners were
told that the mother was spayed. They have had her for about 2 years and she never got pregnant, until now.
The puppies are very friendly and sweet. Like any other puppy they are destroying the yard. These puppies
need someone around alot to train them and teach them to be well-behaved
companions.
Adopted!
Lake Tahoe/Las Vegas, Nevada -
Wolfie - This big, beautiful White Malamute/German Shepherd was
owned by a man who was incapable of caring for him. Wolfie would sit outdoors
in the 100-degree weather during the day; or left indoors in a tiny condo; or
would ride in the bed of a hot truck with a drunken driver. Wolfie is a sweet
3-yr-old neutered boy who really needs someone to care for him. Wolfie is very
friendly with adults and children alike, and loves to play with other
dogs too. He is a large boy at 100 lbs., and due to not getting the proper
exercise when he was young, Wolfie had some weakness in his hind legs and
knees. Wolfie has been in a Foster Home in Las Vegas with an experienced
handler and Naturopath Doctor. He has received good food and training,
acupuncture, chiropractic and physical therapy. He has gained lots of
strength and stamina and is doing fabulous.
Adopted! Sacramento Valley, CA
- Kizer is a beautiful
5-year-old neutered male German Shepherd. He is a Long-Haired Shepherd and weighs
about 100 lbs. His owner has died and Kizer and Roxie are still living in their house -
alone. They are being taken care of by a wonderful woman who goes over and
feeds and walks them. He is very loveable and likes to play fetch with his toys, walks
well on a leash, and is excellent while being groomed. He has not had any formal
training but would do well with some. Kizer is a big loveabe guy and has lived with another
dog [Roxie a female Husky mix shown above] his whole life, so he would do well with
other dogs. If someone would like to adopt them both, that would be wonderful, but we will
separate to find good homes.
Adopted! Sacramento Valley, CA - Jack is an approx 2-yr-old neutered male GSD [may have a little Husky too], who
is very affectionate and energetic. Jack is outgoing with most strangers and likes to be handled
once he gets to know you. He has a child-friendly temperament, and takes treats gently from hand.
Jack is great with other dogs - very playful and somewhat submissive. He likes to be chased rather
than do the chasing. Don't know how Jack is with cats, but my hunch is that he's way too physical
for them. Jack is a very large dog - tall, muscular, strong and athletic. Probably weighs about 75
lbs. He runs gracefully and could be a great jogging companion. Jack is housetrained and very calm
indoors. He walks surprisingly well on a leash, and is non-reactive towards other dogs and people
when on leash. He seems to be a fast learner, but is very sensitive to correction or loud commands,
so needs a soft-voiced guardian that is gentle yet consistent. If treated harshly he will shy away,
so Jack needs a leader who understands his sweet nature. Jack's former owners raised him from a pup.
However, Jack eventually became too rambunctious for their kids, so they ended up keeping him in the
backyard with very little interaction. GSRSV offered to board Jack while seeking him a home and
socializing him with the other dogs here. And that's how Jack ended up here at GSRSV since
December!
Adopted! Hanford, CA
Shelter - This pretty Alaskan Malamute male is about 3 years old and is at the King
County Animal Shelter waiting for someone to give him a loving home. He needs a home with someone that

Out Of Jail card? He will be neutered upon adoption. Please call the Shelter at (559) 584-9214. They

Adopted! Gallup, New Mexico - this thin little girl will be euthanized
very soon if she doesn't find a Foster Home to rescue her right away.
Adopted! Reno, NV - Sequoia is a magnificent, sweet, 8 y/o
neutered Malamute/Husky boy who is losing his home. His owners have divorced and neither can keep him. Time is
of the essence as he may wind up going to the shelter, and very soon! Sequoia is housetrained, loves kids,
other dogs (even the little ones), and likes to go for hikes. He is well behaved both in and outdoors. Sequoia
does like to dig, so needs an
escape-proof enclosure. He would be best with someone around a lot, retired, or can take to work as he
just loves being with people. He is a big boy, about 100 lbs. Sequoia needs a permanent home as soon as
possible - we don't want him to wind up at a shelter!
Rescued! - Redding, CA - Shasta County Animal
Shelter - Wolfen (Lt pic) is 8 yrs old, and Tun
Tun (Rt pic) is 10 yrs old - These two beautiful boys need help right away. Owner
was foreclosed and these two sweet boys wound up at the shelter! They are always happy to see you
and very pleasant to be around, both in good health, walk well on leash, friendly with other other
dogs, housetrained, both neutered and UTD on vaccinations. They are even good with cats! Shelter won't
hold for long as they are full. We are trying to keep these friends together but will separate if
needed to save their lives. Everyone wants a puppy and no one has even looked at
them.
Adopted! Blythe, CA - Koda - Beautiful
young white female White German Shepherd/Husky, about 2-3 years old, is in need of immediate Foster or
permanent home. She was a stray, and is being Fostered at a ranch to keep her safe, but needs to get into a
home ASAP. Koda is very friendly with her foster mom, and even rides in her golf cart around the ranch. She
plays nicely with the other ranch dogs and is a submissive girl. Foster Mom cannot keep her much longer and
we don't want this beautiful girl going to a shelter.
