Owners Keeping! Cooper - is
a handsome 1-yr-old Malamute neutered male. He needs a home as soon as possible.
His owner injured her back and cannot give Cooper the exercise he badly needs. He
is very good with kids, is not food aggressive and will eat out of your hands. He
has never taken food unless it is handed to him. He knows sit, down, and will give
you a High 5! Cooper is housetrained and if he wants a walk, he will go fetch his
leash and bring to you... he likes long hikes and plenty of exercise! Cooper loves
to go for rides in the car. If you don't give him a blanket, he will go get his own
to lie on. He does like to chew things. Cooper is very trainable! He is also
very protective and assertive around strangers entering the home and
needs some work in this area, but no aggression toward other dogs.
Adopted! This is Wolfie, who belongs to a terminally ill, WW 2 vet living
in Rosarito
Beach, Baja
California. Due to the
imminent passing of his owner, Wolfie is in dire need of a home
ASAP. He is a sweet, neutered, 12 y/o male GSD/Husky mix, housebroken, friendlyand loving with
people. Wolfie does not care for other male dogs. Has a couple of health
issues, one being a .22 cal. bullet lodged in
his hip (someone shot
him). Another is what may just be a
lipoma, a golf-ball sized lump on his right leg. This lump is soft, but is not ‘tender’
or painful. A friend of the
owner is willing to transport from Mexico, for a reasonable distance, and further transportation
assistance is available..
Adopted! Snookie - this cute Shepherd/Border
Collie mix was dropped off in the snow to fend for herself. She is
young, about 8 months old, and was pregnant. Lucky for Snookie, she
happened to be abandoned near a rescue person's house, and she was saved
before she starved or froze during the freezing, rainy night. She is very
friendly with other dogs, and loves to be with you indoors. She is
housetrained and very well behaved, she's the greatest companion, loves
everyone, and just wants to please... a sweetiepie! A wonderful
woman drove all the way from California to New Mexico to give Snookie
a forever home. She got her new home just in the nick of time to have her
beautiful pups in a safe environment. All the pups found good
homes!
Adopted! Akhina at Lake Tahoe ....born
Oct 19, 2009. Shy beautiful little wooley Malamute/GSD mix girl....very sweet but needs a
home where she gets lots of reassurance and love to build her confidence, as she is very
shy. She is the last of her litter who were taken into rescue as tiny bottle-fed babies.
Adopted! Kiska - Phoenix, Arizona - was rescued as a puppy from a backyard
breeder. She and her sister Ryah [below] are lost their home due to financial stress. This sweetie
is only 3 years old, spayed, and loves to play with other dogs. She walks nicely on leash and loves to
go for long walks. She is excellent indoors, housetrained and well mannered, though she likes to eat
socks! She looks to be more German Shepherd Dog with
some Husky [she has one blue eye!]. Kiska has no food
aggression, and likes to lay down and eat.
She is a bit dominant with
dogs at playtime; submissive with humans, adults and
children. Kiska is a very good girl. She is a little shy at first and will take a while to check you out
before accepting you. She is an awesome sister to Rayah and they would play until the sun came up. We would
like to adopt them together, but if that is not possible, they will be fine being
separated. Kiska is a big snuggler and really loves to be
around people. She comes when called, can Sit,
Lay down, give kisses and get water all on command. No anxiety issues, no chewing or destroying. She is
indoor dog all of her life because she lives in hot, hot Arizona, and uses a doggy door when needed. She walks great on a leash and isn't phased by other dogs or people when on
walks. She has the most beautiful howl so when
there are sirens you will hear her
song! Kiska loves to be brushed and she does blow her coat twice a year. She loves chicken, rice and shredded carrots. We would like to find her
and Ryah a loving home in the cool Sierra Nevada or another cool climate where she can
thrive.
